In a store in Klein Wanzleben in Börde district, two men caught attention on Tuesday morning by asking customers for money. They claimed to be collecting for an organisation that supports deaf people. The information comes from Saxony-Anhalt Police.

The store manager noticed the pair and pointed out an existing ban from the premises. The men then quickly left the store. A search in the surrounding area was unsuccessful.

According to investigators, similar incidents are already known to have occurred in Haldensleben and Oebisfelde. The group is said to consist of men and women from south-east Europe who typically operate in pairs.

Officers are appealing to shoppers to remain vigilant. Anyone who comes into contact with such persons should end the encounter promptly and notify police. Descriptions of the perpetrators and possible vehicles could assist with the investigation.
