Arrest in Nuremberg: 35-year-old suspected of abusing minors with drugs
An alleged drug dealer was arrested in Nuremberg – he is suspected of drugging and abusing two girls aged 14 and 15. More than a dozen men have been arrested in connection with the investigation.
Fresh arrest in Nuremberg railway station area – 14- and 15-year-old victims
Nuremberg police have arrested a 35-year-old man suspected of sexually abusing two minors. According to the Süddeutsche Zeitung, the suspect is alleged to have supplied a 14-year-old and a 15-year-old with narcotics and then committed sexual acts against both. He is said to have struck one of the victims in the face.
The arrest took place on Thursday of the previous week. On the night before, according to police, the man was in the Gostenhof district with the girls – an area immediately adjacent to Nuremberg's main railway station. The assaults subsequently took place in a residential building.
The arrest is part of an extensive investigation that police have been conducting for some time under the operation name "Kajal". The special task force is directed against alleged dealers in the railway station area who are suspected of first supplying girls and young women with drugs and then sexually abusing them. Just a week before the current arrest, two further men were arrested as part of the same investigation. In total, more than a dozen suspects have now been arrested for comparable offences.
Investigators emphasise that the task force's aim is not solely the prosecution of suspects. An equally important goal is to remove affected girls and young people from the railway station area. Police confirmed that the investigation is continuing without abatement.
