Investigators from the Oldenburg State Prosecutor's Office and police conducted searches on Wednesday of ten residential properties and a gastronomy business in Bremen, Delmenhorst and Ganderkesee. The focus was on a group of eight suspects aged between 17 and 31. They are accused of withdrawing cash from bank ATMs and at retail outlets using false information.

The authorities estimate the damage to be in the millions. The accused are facing charges of accessory to fraud committed commercially and as part of a criminal gang. Five of the suspects are currently in custody. The investigations have not yet been concluded.
