The incident occurred on Thursday on Friesenstraße, near the office of a political party. Members of Die Linke had called the authorities after the teenager was noticed using Nazi symbolism in the immediate vicinity of their office. When the patrol arrived, the suspect repeated his statements.
The security authorities initiated criminal proceedings. The use of symbols of groups hostile to the Constitution is a punishable offence in Germany.
