A serious act of violence shook the municipality of Stade in Lower Saxony on Monday. According to police statements, several people lost their lives. The shots were fired in the city centre, in the immediate vicinity of a youth centre.
Investigators reported on the evening of the day of the incident that the number of deaths stands at a minimum of five. The authorities had previously warned citizens to avoid the affected district.
