A 46-year-old and a 39-year-old were tried in Munich for selling large quantities of marijuana. Police had previously seized over 100 kilogrammes of the drug.

The Munich Regional Court I has sentenced a 46-year-old wholesale and retail merchant to three years and nine months in prison for illegal trafficking in significant quantities of cannabis. His co-defendant, a 39-year-old, received a suspended sentence of one year and a half, suspended on probation.
The case came to light when a tenant in Trudering repeatedly noticed a distinctive smell in the building's hallway. She also observed her neighbour regularly loading crates and bags from his flat into waiting vehicles. As her daughter works for the police, she passed the information on.
On 12 September 2025, officers moved in. Shortly before noon, the two convicted men were loading nine cartons from the older man's flat into two cars. The contents: almost 83 kilogrammes of marijuana. Investigators followed the transport to a garage in the area and arrested both men.
A subsequent raid on the flat uncovered a further six containers containing a total of 20 kilogrammes of the drug. Combined, the seized amount was well above the limit of 25 grammes permitted for adults, which has been in force since the new cannabis law came into effect in April 2024.
The main defendant's lawyer argued for an accessory conviction and probation. His client had merely acted as a courier and received a small amount per gramme. The judges rejected this. According to an evaluation of his mobile phone, the 46-year-old had previously organised similar deliveries, some to as far as Breisgau.
