NSU murders in Munich: 25 years on, the Kılıç and Boulgarides families are still suffering
On 29 August, the anniversary of the murder of Habil Kılıç falls for the 25th time. The wounds of the bereaved families of both NSU victims in Munich remain unhealed to this day.
NSU terror in Munich: Two families, 25 years of pain
According to the Süddeutsche Zeitung, 29 August marks the 25th anniversary of the day members of the National Socialist Underground (NSU) shot Habil Kılıç dead in his grocery shop "Himmet Market" on Bad-Schachener-Straße in Ramersdorf. The 38-year-old father of the family was killed behind his counter with two shots to the head — the nearest police station was only 100 metres away. A customer found him shortly afterwards in a pool of blood.
Four years later, the far-right extremist group murdered Theodoros Boulgarides. Even two decades after this second Munich NSU murder, central questions remain unanswered: How did the perpetrators know about the victim's key shop? Did they have supporters in Munich's neo-Nazi circles? According to the report, the traces leading into these circles are unmistakeable.
The wounds of the bereaved families remain unhealed. Their struggle for survival continues.
