Saxony-Anhalt state police have launched an online appeal for information on three men. They are suspected of playing a role in the violent riots at the second-division match between 1. FC Magdeburg and Dynamo Dresden. Members of the public can submit information via an online police platform.

Over recent months, investigators have been able to assign criminal offences to over a hundred participants on the basis of recordings. The number of already identified persons is not being disclosed for tactical reasons. The current appeal is intended as the beginning of a larger operation. Further suspects are to be sought online in the coming weeks. The investigation into the incidents is expected to continue into the next season.

Most of the sought persons are suspected of serious breach of the peace. In two cases, police are also investigating attempted manslaughter. In these cases, an initial charge has already been filed.

The riots resulted in 77 police officers suffering injuries. Reliable information is not available regarding injuries to supporters of the home club.
