Two suspects are in custody after allegedly committing at least two armed robberies against wealthy elderly homeowners in Saxony-Anhalt. The men disguised themselves as employees of a parcel delivery service.
In carrying out their crimes, the alleged perpetrators relied on a carefully planned disguise: they wore professionally appearing work clothing and operated a company vehicle with a large logo. This disguise allowed them to approach the doors of their chosen victims without arousing suspicion.
One of the suspects acted as the purported delivery person, whilst the second man, armed, served as backup. Investigators worked for months to clarify the case. Eventually, the investigation – supported by a public appeal on television – led to the arrest of the alleged ringleader and his accomplice.
The prosecution authorities are now examining whether additional individuals were involved in the crimes. The exact circumstances of the robberies are continuing to be investigated.
