Officers seized narcotics, four blank-firing weapons and over 11,000 euros in cash during coordinated house searches in Saxony. One man is being held in custody.

On 15 June 2026, officers from the Leipzig-Südost police station conducted searches at one flat each in Leipzig-Anger-Crottendorf and Taucha on the orders of the state prosecutor's office. Two German men, aged 38 and 45, came under investigation after allegedly breaking into several caravans in April 2026.
In the younger suspect's flat in Leipzig, police officers discovered part of the stolen goods, including a complete fishing equipment set. The search in Taucha, however, yielded far more serious finds: at the older suspect's residence, officers found a considerable quantity of narcotics, four blank-firing weapons some of which were ready to fire, further dangerous objects and more than 11,000 euros in cash.
Officers took the 45-year-old into custody on the same day. He was near his place of work and was riding a motorcycle despite not having the requisite licence. The Leipzig district court issued a custody order on 15 June. Following the judicial hearing, the defendant was remanded in prison.
Investigations are now proceeding on suspicion of various theft offences, illegal drug dealing, breaches of weapons legislation and driving without a licence. The seized stolen items are to be returned to those affected soon.
