The federal prosecutor's office in Karlsruhe announced on 30 June the arrest of a Romanian national. The 18-year-old was arrested in the Enzkreis district of Baden-Württemberg by police forces from Rhineland-Palatinate and Baden-Württemberg. He is accused of wanting to establish a foreign far-right terror organisation from Germany.
According to Buna ziua Brasov, the suspect has been active since early 2023. He reportedly attempted to form a group that was to trigger a "terror war" in Romania. The goal was reportedly the collapse of the Romanian state and the establishment of a new state modelled on National Socialism.
To recruit new members, the young man is said to have operated two channels via a messenger service from Germany. These channels were primarily directed at young Romanians. Through these platforms, he is said to have incited subscribers and members to commit various crimes.
The charges include, among other things, calls for graffiti with far-right symbols, incitement of young girls to self-harm, arson attacks on buildings used by migrants or LGBTQ members, and murder of so-called "subhumans". Additionally, the suspect is said to have distributed instructions for the manufacture of poisons and explosives, as well as construction plans for Molotov cocktails and car bombs.
At the time of the alleged crimes, the suspect is said to have been a minor. The investigation is being conducted by the federal prosecutor's office, which is responsible for terrorism and crimes against state security.
