A teenager was severely injured during an altercation in Munich on Wednesday evening. The 16-year-old sustained injuries to the upper body and required emergency surgery. By the following morning, he was reported to be out of danger.

Police were called to the Harras shortly before 9 p.m. According to initial findings, a conflict between two people had previously occurred in the vicinity of a closed bank branch. The teenager sustained serious injuries in the incident. The other person involved was no longer present when the police arrived.

The incident apparently began in a fast-food restaurant. It subsequently moved outside and across the street. Police declined to comment on details concerning the injuries, the person who fled, or whether a weapon was involved. During the night, Division 11, which handles homicide cases, took over the investigation.

Officers secured extensive evidence at the scene. More than 40 emergency personnel were deployed on site. The authorities are asking witnesses to contact them on 089/29100.
