In the northern German town of Tarp, several motorists have had their wheels fall off. As Ekstra Bladet reports, police in Flensburg believe it to be vandalism.
Officers suspect that one or more people deliberately loosened wheel bolts on parked vehicles. They are calling on motorists in the region to check their wheels before driving.
In one of the cases, the incident occurred on the motorway. The driver suddenly noticed vibrations in the steering wheel at high speed. After he drove to the next car park, he discovered that five wheel bolts on one wheel had been loosened.
Another incident happened in the town centre of Tarp, where a front wheel fell off a car. No one was injured.
In a third case, a fallen wheel continued rolling and collided with another vehicle. Only property damage resulted.
