In the early morning, a 19-year-old driver attracted attention in Sinsheim, located in the Rhein-Neckar district, through risky manoeuvring on a public car park. The driver performed so-called donuts, circular drifting movements, with his vehicle. When a patrol car crew attempted to stop him for a check, he ignored the stop signals and accelerated. Over a longer distance, he drove on regional roads and through surrounding settlements, disregarding speed limits and massively endangering the safety of other road users. The flight ended when law enforcement officers managed to stop the young man and take him into custody.
During the subsequent inspection of his vehicle, officers discovered a non-lethal firearm as well as narcotics. A housing search conducted later brought further significant finds to light: several tens of thousands of euros in cash, another blank-firing firearm along with corresponding ammunition, as well as counterfeit banknotes. The teenager's driving licence was revoked and his vehicle confiscated. The public prosecutor's office is investigating, among other things, on suspicion of endangering traffic.
