A violent altercation took place on Oststraße in Heilbronn on Thursday, leaving four men injured. Two of them sustained serious injuries and are currently being treated in hospital. Criminal police have launched an investigation.
Shortly after the incident, officers were able to arrest two people near the scene. They are an 18-year-old and a 27-year-old, who are now in custody on suspicion of attempted manslaughter. According to police, all four people involved in the conflict hold Syrian citizenship.
Investigators believe the men became involved in a dispute on Oststraße at around 10 a.m., which escalated over time. According to the authorities, a stabbing implement and a metal pipe were used in the incident. The precise cause of the incident remains unknown.
The police operation led to a temporary full closure of Oststraße to vehicular traffic. Numerous emergency personnel and police patrol cars were on site.
