Two men in constitutional hearing after explosives attack on Amager
Police have arrested two young men, aged 19 and 20, in connection with an explosion on Amager. The incident took place on Tuesday around 6 p.m. and left a 31-year-old man with severe injuries.
According to the charges, the two arrested men transported a hand grenade to an address on the island. It was then thrown into a yard, where it detonated. The 31-year-old victim remains in a critical condition.
The authorities regard the attack as an attempted murder, and the two men are therefore charged with attempted homicide. They were apprehended the night after the explosion, but both deny having participated in the act.
During the closed court hearing on Wednesday, the prosecutor requested that the doors be closed. The justification was that the investigation is still in an initial phase, and that there may still be co-perpetrators at large. The court followed the prosecutor's request.
