A 48-year-old man has been remanded in custody for four weeks following a preliminary hearing in Horsens. He is suspected of having secretly recorded girls and of possessing illegal material depicting minors.

A 48-year-old man from Horsens was brought before a judge at Horsens District Court on Monday. Following the hearing, the court decided to remand him in custody for four weeks, the prosecution at South East Jutland Police reported to TV 2 Østjylland.
The man in question is charged with indecency and possession of material depicting abuse of persons under 18 years of age. He has reserved the right to appeal the decision.
During the hearing, it emerged that the man had secretly filmed a girl born in 2011 over a four-year period until police arrested him. He is also suspected of having recorded private situations involving an unknown number of additional girls who worked as babysitters in his home.
Furthermore, he is suspected of having stored photographs and videos depicting abuse of minors on a hard drive. He denies having committed this particular offence.
According to police, material has also been found that was created using artificial intelligence.
The prosecutor requested that the hearing be held behind closed doors following the presentation of the charges. The justification was that there remain victims in the case whom the authorities have not yet been able to locate, and these individuals should not become aware of the case through the press. The judge granted the request.
TV 2 Østjylland lodged a protest against the closure, but it was not upheld.
