Copenhagen Police seek witnesses after fatal assault on Swedish officer
Copenhagen Police have requested the public's assistance in investigating a fatal assault on Swedish police officer Christian Zedig. The incident occurred during a football match in connection with the World Cup at Islands Brygge last week.
– If there are witnesses who saw the incident or who have information in the case, we welcome information from them, police told Ritzau.
A 31-year-old man was remanded in custody on Friday, suspected of having delivered a blow to the neck or jaw, causing Zedig to fall to the ground. Authorities state, however, that the charge classification may be changed.
Police continue working to clarify precisely what happened and whether more than one perpetrator is involved.
