According to extra.ec, Ecuadorian authorities released on 11 September images of two men sought for their alleged involvement in an attack against a police officer in the Monte Sinaí sector, in the northwest of Guayaquil.
The attack occurred in the Sergio Toral cooperative. The police officer received a bullet wound to the head and remains in critical condition under medical care at a hospital in Guayaquil.
According to available information, the two suspects were travelling on a motorcycle at the time of the incident. The photographs were published through the account of the Rewards Plan 131, a mechanism promoted by the Armed Forces and the National Police.
Investigations continue to determine the circumstances of the attack and establish the whereabouts of those responsible.
The Rewards Plan 131, which has been operating since October 2023, requested citizen collaboration to obtain information to locate the two men. Anyone with information about their whereabouts can contact the authorities free of charge on the number 131, as well as through other channels made available by the authorities.
