A pair of 55-year-old twin brothers was detained in the Koropi area following an altercation at a car repair workshop. The incident occurred early in the morning of 17 June, when the two men allegedly accosted and threatened two employees of the business. According to the complaint, one of the two struck a victim with the grip of a weapon.
Following the report, a specialist police unit from the local security division was immediately mobilised. Within a few hours, authorities located and brought the suspects in. Searches were extended to both their home and a shop they operate in Paiania.
There, a significant weapons cache was uncovered. Initial reports mention the seizure of a military rifle, a semi-automatic pistol, two air guns and two hundred metal projectiles. The discovery of the machine gun caused particular concern among the officers handling the case.
The two arrested individuals face criminal charges for violation of weapons laws, intimidation and causing bodily injury. They were brought before a prosecutor for further proceedings. Source: efsyn.gr
