A 30-year-old foreign national was arrested on Chios with a quantity of raw cannabis and packets of cigarettes without special duty tax stamps.

Port authorities on Chios arrested a 30-year-old foreign national upon the arrival of a passenger ship at the port. The man had with him a plastic package containing raw cannabis weighing 15.92 grammes.
Additionally, 19 packets of cigarettes were found among his belongings, which did not bear the lawful special consumption tax tape. The taxes evaded amount to €83.26.
The products were seized and a preliminary investigation is being conducted by the Central Port Authority of Chios.
