Police officers from the White Tower Crime Detection and Investigation Department identified the sender of an electronic message that warned of a bomb at a DEDDIE building in Western Thessaloniki.

The suspect is a 42-year-old man. The message was sent the previous month and contained a reference to an explosive device in the specific location. Police officers examined the building and found nothing dangerous — the contents were entirely false.

A case file was opened against the 42-year-old on the authority of the prosecutor for spreading false information. The case will be referred to the courts. He was not taken into custody.
