A foreign national was arrested in Thessaloniki on drugs charges. A police detection dog located over 380 grammes of cocaine hidden in a car.

On the afternoon of Saturday, 6 June, officers from the Polygiros Crime Investigation and Detection Department arrested a foreign man in the Thessaloniki area. The man is accused of trafficking and possession of illegal substances.
During a search of the car he was driving, with the assistance of a specially trained drugs detection dog from the Chalkidiki Police Directorate, authorities discovered 39 packages of cocaine well hidden behind the driver's seat. The total weight of the drugs reached 383.1 grammes.
In a search conducted at his home in an area of the city, a further 7 packages of cocaine (4.9 grammes) were found, 3 packages of raw cannabis (3.8 grammes) and €14,520 in cash.
The car was seized, along with two mobile phones he had with him. The arrested man was taken to the District Prosecutor of Thessaloniki and from there was referred to the investigating magistrate.
