Traffic accident in Evia: 12-year-old secretly drove car and collided in Drosia
A 12-year-old minor took his father's vehicle without permission and lost control in Drosia. The father was arrested for neglect of supervision and released.
Twelve-year-old driver caused traffic accident in Evia — father arrested
A traffic accident involving a minor driver occurred on Saturday morning in Evia, according to Ethnos. The 12-year-old is said to have secretly taken his father's car without the latter noticing the vehicle's absence.
During the journey, the child struck a parked car. Shortly afterwards, whilst driving in Drosia, he lost control of the vehicle and collided again with another parked car.
Transfer to Children's Hospital for precautionary reasons
The 12-year-old was initially transferred to Chalkida Hospital. Subsequently, doctors decided that he needed to be transferred, for precautionary reasons, to a Children's Hospital in order to undergo the necessary medical examinations.
Father arrested and released
Police authorities were immediately informed of the incident. The 12-year-old's father was arrested on the charge of neglect of supervision of a minor. On the orders of the prosecuting authorities, he was subsequently released.
