In Chania, the case of the disappearance of Stavrula Leventaki continues to occupy the attention of the prosecuting authorities. The 45-year-old has been missing since 30 May and investigations have intensified with new statements.
According to information from Newsbeast, police called for a second time a person from the immediate circle of the missing woman. This person is considered significant for clarification and is not her brother.
The last time someone saw Stavrula was on Saturday 30 May in Varypetro. She had gone to her parents' house and subsequently met a man who had carried out work on a family agricultural plot. She paid him and then left towards the bus stop to return to Chania.
A witness who saw her that day reported that he gestured to her and she responded with a gesture, before continuing on her way. From that moment on, no one knows what followed.
Police have searched the woman's house and are attempting to reconstruct her route. They have taken statements from four workers and her brother. All claim to have no knowledge of what happened afterwards.
Now, attention is focused on the person who was called for a second interrogation. The authorities do not rule out any scenario, not even that of a criminal act.
