The Veszprém county police have launched proceedings against Győr+Média Zrt. The decision was prompted by a submission from the municipal leadership.
Bence Pintér turned to the authorities at the end of April. During an inspection of the city media company, signs emerged suggesting that certain individuals had not performed actual work despite receiving payment. The company employed ninety-three people last year, which significantly exceeded the previously assumed headcount.
According to the mayor's claims, the names of relatives and acquaintances of Fidesz local government members appeared in the documents. The company received more than one billion forints in municipal funds over the recent period.
The police questioned the city leader as a witness on 22 June at the mayor's office.
