Two local men attacked a group of foreign nationals in Veszprém city centre, with one threatening them using a broken beer bottle. The 23 and 17-year-old perpetrators were taken into custody.

Suspicion of hooliganism and grievous bodily harm in Veszprém city centre
According to a police.hu report, a report came in on 28 May a few minutes after midnight: two groups became involved in a fight in Veszprém town centre.
The foreign nationals were sitting on a nearby bench talking when one member of the four-person group standing next to them addressed them with offensive language and then shoved a woman. Her companions came to her defence, which led to an argument, and the provocative man began brandishing a broken beer bottle at them. After the bottle was taken from him, a scuffle broke out, and the hooligan man's friend also joined in.
Police apprehended and questioned the 23 and 17-year-old men from Veszprém at the scene, and both were taken into custody. Detention was requested for the older suspect. The investigation is being conducted on suspicion of the crimes of hooliganism and grievous bodily harm. It emerged at the scene that both men were under the influence of alcohol, and the younger one had also consumed drugs.
An ambulance transported the injured person to hospital.
