A large-scale operation is underway in Tuscany, where officers from the Central Operational Service and the Prato Mobile Squad are carrying out dozens of preventive custody orders. The operation is coordinated by the District Anti-Mafia Prosecution at the Florence Public Prosecutor's Office.
The investigation targeted a criminal organisation composed of Italians and foreign nationals, active in the international trafficking of narcotic substances, the laundering of illegal proceeds and the facilitation of clandestine entry of persons of Chinese nationality. The offences alleged include criminal association.
Approximately 150 police officers were mobilised to carry out the operation. The measures target various individuals believed to be integral members of the criminal group.
