The events date to the afternoon of 3 September.
The body of Isceri, 46, was found 25 metres below, at the foot of the concrete pillars of the viaduct. The woman's calls for help triggered emergency services, though they arrived when it was already too late.

ANSA distributed footage of the frantic phases following the femicide. In the images, Vella is seen, wearing a black t-shirt and white trousers, already beyond the guardrail when reached by police forces. Officers from the Motorway Police were still unaware at that moment that the man had thrown his ex-partner into the void moments earlier — their colleagues at the operations centre would discover this shortly by viewing images from the roadside cameras.
In the footage, the man's desperation can be heard. Invited not to jump, Vella first attempts to justify what he had done, then reminisces about the woman he had just killed. "She attacked me, she treated me badly," he shouts, referring to his ex-girlfriend, before adding: "She was the most beautiful woman." Finally, addressing the officers: "Shoot me. You all hate me."
The negotiation and the moment of the leap
For over thirty minutes the officers attempt to dissuade him. "Fede, don't do it," can be heard in the footage recorded by a police officer. Vella asks to speak only with a police officer present on the carriageway. One of the officers proposes to him: "If you want to speak only with her, we will move away," and he agrees.
The police officer approaches. When she is a few metres from him, a scream is heard: "Nooooo…". An officer communicates by radio: "He has jumped."
The dynamics of the femicide
According to the reconstruction reported by La Nazione, Lorena Isceri had been attacked in her own garage, seized and immobilised, and brought to the viaduct presumably still alive before being thrown into the void by Vella.
The woman had discovered her partner's infidelity and had decided to leave him. Vella had not accepted the end of the relationship, developing an obsession with winning her back, which culminated in the tragic outcome of 3 September.
Ongoing investigations
The investigation is being coordinated by public prosecutor Antonio Natale and the head of the Florence Mobile Squad, Domenico Balsamo. Investigators have inspected the residence of the two and are attempting to reconstruct what triggered the man's violence. The area has been placed under seizure.
An autopsy will be performed on Lorena Isceri's body to establish whether the woman died before the impact or as a result of the fall. The footage recorded on the viaduct will be central to the investigation.
