Assault in Lamadeleine: high-speed chase and arrest of fugitive
A couple was violently assaulted by three individuals in Lamadeleine. One of the suspects, riding an electric scooter, was intercepted following a pursuit that ended in a collision with a police vehicle.

At around 18:30 on Tuesday, three individuals attacked a couple on Avenue de l'Europe in the locality of Lamadeleine. The two victims were struck and sustained minor injuries. The three assailants fled the scene.
Early in the evening, a police officer spotted one of the offenders on a two-wheeled electric vehicle. The individual attempted to evade police control, prompting a vehicle pursuit. The chase ended in a collision involving the police service vehicle and the suspect's scooter. The officer and the fugitive were both slightly injured.
A toxicological examination conducted on the man detected the presence of cannabis in his system. Furthermore, the vehicle he was operating was capable of exceeding the speed limit. On the decision of the public prosecutor's office, a procedure for resisting police was initiated and the vehicle was confiscated.
Another assault case was reported the same day on Rue du Commerce, near the Gare district in Luxembourg-City. Two unknown individuals allegedly set upon a pedestrian; one of them allegedly struck the victim, who fought back. During the scuffle, a piece of jewellery the man was wearing around his neck was torn off. The two alleged assailants fled in the direction of the central station.
Investigators are working on both cases.
