According to Le Quotidien, citing Reporter.lu, IT company BMS Engineering — service provider to several medical practices in Luxembourg — was targeted by a cyberattack on 22 August. At least 80 practices are reportedly affected.

According to the Luxembourg media, "health data hosted" may have been lost as a result of the incident. "A leak of patient information cannot be ruled out at this stage", Reporter.lu states.

On Monday afternoon, Member of Parliament Djuna Bernard submitted a parliamentary question to the Health Minister, Martine Deprez. The Green Party representative questioned her about the reality of these data losses and about the measures the government is considering taking following this incident.
