Police arrested one individual and are continuing to search for a second suspect following burglaries at two homes in the Cents district, early Friday morning.

A large police operation was deployed during the night from Thursday to Friday in Luxembourg City, following break-ins at two homes in the Cents district. Law enforcement was alerted around 03:00, as confirmed by a police source to Contacto.
On the scene, officers managed to apprehend one perpetrator. An accomplice, however, fled the scene. Since then, the search has continued actively to locate him, with the support of a helicopter mobilised in the capital's airspace.
The operation also involved the neighbouring Neudorf district, where officers remained mobilised in the early morning. Initially, the authorities had not been able to determine with certainty whether the intrusions had been successful or whether they were merely attempted break-ins, with all resources concentrated on the hunt for the fleeing suspect.
The arrested suspect is now in police custody. The investigation will need to establish the exact extent of the damage and losses suffered by the occupants of the two targeted homes.
