In September 2025, a person was slightly injured by gunshot in Luxembourg City with a weapon manufactured using 3D printing, a first in the Grand Duchy.

On 14 September 2025, a gunshot left one person slightly injured at the level of Avenue Émile-Reuter, in the Luxembourg capital. The weapon used during this incident had been produced by additive manufacturing, commonly called 3D printing. This is the first case of this type recorded in the Grand Duchy.
Five months after the incident, in February 2026, two detainees carried out a reconstruction of the events at the municipal park in Luxembourg. This reconstruction took place in the presence of their legal representatives, an examining judge, police officers and representatives of the public prosecutor's office.
Regarding the precise origin of the weapon, the judicial authorities remain tight-lipped. The public prosecutor's office indicated that only the fact of 3D printing had been established, without further details.
This case comes as the European Commission expresses concerns about a proliferation of firearms produced by 3D printer. A specialist in additive manufacturing nevertheless downplayed these concerns in an analysis published by Le Quotidien.
