Motor vehicle theft in the capital
Early Saturday, a car disappeared in the vicinity of the central station. Investigators recovered the vehicle the same day in the Hollerich district. Following investigations, a man was identified as the suspected perpetrator. The public prosecutor ordered his placement in custody before he appeared before the investigating magistrate on Saturday afternoon.
Shoplifting in a Wemperhardt shopping arcade
Two offenders were reported Saturday afternoon in a shopping arcade in Wemperhardt, where they had taken clothing from two stores. Security staff detained them before police took them into custody at the request of the public prosecutor. Their hearing before the investigating court took place Sunday morning.
Restaurant burglary and Belgian fugitive
Saturday evening, a restaurant in the historic quarter was targeted in a theft. A passer-by followed the suspect, facilitating his interception by gendarmes on Monterey Avenue. It transpired that the suspect was the subject of a search warrant from Belgium. The public prosecutor requested his incarceration, and he was brought before the judge this morning.
Resin trafficking in Wiltz
Late Saturday evening, a surveillance unit spotted two drug users inhaling marijuana on Nicolas-Kreins Avenue in Wiltz. An inspection revealed that one of them was carrying approximately three hundred grammes of hashish. The public prosecutor ordered his arrest. The narcotics and mobile phones of both individuals were seized by investigators.
