An altercation between two men turned tragic in Rippig. The victim was struck on the head with a bottle and hospitalised.

A violent altercation erupted on Sunday 28 June on national road 11 in Rippig, in the municipality of Bech. Police officers discovered upon their arrival a man lying on the ground, unconscious, with an open wound to the skull.
First aid had already been administered to the victim before the intervention of the police. According to the initial information gathered by investigators, the two protagonists had consumed alcohol before the situation escalated.
During the dispute, the alleged assailant reportedly struck the head of his opponent with a glass bottle. The impact caused the victim to lose consciousness.
Emergency services transported the injured man to a hospital for treatment. His state of health was not specified.
The alleged perpetrator, considered dangerous both to himself and to others, was taken to a sobering-up cell after being examined by a doctor. Police officers drew up a report.
