Attempted murder in Ettelbruck: receiver stabbed by bankrupt man
A 53-year-old man has been imprisoned after seriously injuring a 34-year-old receiver with a knife, who was in charge of his bankruptcy proceedings, on 12 June in Ettelbruck. The Diekirch public prosecutor's office is pursuing a charge of attempted murder.

Around 17:00 on 12 June, a violent altercation took place in a residential property in Ettelbruck. A 34-year-old resident received multiple knife wounds whilst at home. Neighbours or passers-by immediately intervened to protect him and end the assault.
Patrols were able to apprehend a 53-year-old individual quickly in a nearby street. Meanwhile, medical teams evacuated the injured man to a hospital. Fortunately, his life was not in danger.
Investigators rapidly established that the suspect had been seen near the victim's home before the incident. The two protagonists knew each other through their professional activities: the stabbed man worked as a receiver in the collective bankruptcy proceedings to which the suspect was subject.
The Diekirch public prosecutor's office referred the case to an investigating magistrate and requested the opening of proceedings for attempted murder, alternatively attempted homicide. The accused was brought before the investigating judge on 13 June. The judge issued a warrant of arrest and decided to keep him in prison on a remand basis.
The investigation continues actively in order to shed full light on the events. In accordance with the rules of investigative confidentiality, no additional details will be revealed for the moment.
