Keith Arnaud Begins Testimony in Trial Against Yorgen Fenech
Police Assistant Commissioner Keith Arnaud appeared before the Court as the first witness in the jury trial of Yorgen Fenech. Arnaud was the head of the police investigation into the murder of journalist Daphne Caruana Galizia and is also one of the principal prosecutors in the case.
The trial entered its third day after the prosecution carried out extensive work to explain the chronology of the plot that led to the assassination of the journalist in October 2017. The jury is hearing arguments in Court, whilst the defence lawyers and the civil party are present at each hearing.
Judge Edwina Grima is presiding over the trial hearings. Fenech is facing charges of complicity in the intentional murder of Daphne Caruana Galizia, as well as of criminal association to carry out the murder.
