Three men arrested in two separate operations related to the importation and trafficking of drugs in Malta. Two Italians and one Maltese to be held before Magistrate Dr Kevan Azzopardi.
Three Arrested Following Police Operations on Drug Trafficking
Three men were arrested following two separate police operations aimed at addressing the importation and trafficking of drugs in Malta, according to Lovin Malta.
In the first operation, two Italian nationals, aged 22 and 19, were arrested after police carried out a controlled delivery of a suspicious package that arrived from Spain. The package contained 1.5 kilograms of suspected cannabis resin. In further searches at the residence where the two men were living, officers found additional suspected drugs and items allegedly linked to drug trafficking.
In a separate investigation, a 21-year-old Maltese man was arrested after police allegedly found him in possession of 170 suspected ecstasy pills, as well as cocaine and magic mushroom powder, all suspected to be for trafficking purposes.
The three men are expected to be charged in court today before Magistrate Dr Kevan Azzopardi, whilst police investigations continue.
