Convicted hitman Vince Muscat stated in the trial of Yorgen Fenech that he and Alfred Degiorgio were searching for the former minister at a bar in Siġġiewi.

During the jury trial of Yorgen Fenech, convicted hitman Vince Muscat – known as Il-Koħħu – stated that a few weeks before they were arrested, he and Alfred Degiorgio went to Ferdinand's Bar in Siġġiewi to search for Chris Cardona, who was a cabinet member.
This testimony was given on day 12 of the trial. Muscat said the visit was probably related to seeking support or assistance from the former minister, but admitted that he could not recall exactly why they had gone. He added that Cardona was not there when they arrived.
Defence lawyer Dr Giannella De Marco asked Muscat whether he remembered seeing Edward Gatt, a lawyer, together with Cardona at that same place, and whether it had previously been reported that the two individuals regularly visited that bar. Il-Koħħu replied that he did not remember these incidents.
The trial against Yorgen Fenech is ongoing. He denies being the mastermind behind the killing of Daphne Caruana Galizia. Muscat is testifying under oath as part of the prosecution's evidence.
