Two men charged following alleged drug deal in Paceville
Two Somali men were charged in court following allegations that they sold drugs in Paceville during a police operation that took place over the weekend.
According to reports from Times of Malta, officials from the Drug Squad, together with San Ġiljan police and the Community Policing Team, observed the pair allegedly conducting a drug transaction with an Italian national who was attempting to buy cannabis on Saturday.
One of the men, Ahmed Abdi Mohamed, aged 25, admitted that he was in possession of cannabis and cocaine. He was handed a sentence of one year's imprisonment and was fined €500.
The second man, Mowlid Ahmed Salah, aged 23, was charged with possession of cannabis and cocaine with intent to distribute. He pleaded not guilty and was remanded in custody after police allegedly found packets containing the suspected drugs during a search.
