Zondacrypto scandal: Nawrocki, Ziobro and Kaczyński in shadow of investigation into Kral
According to Onet, fear plays a key role in the Zondacrypto scandal — affecting the president, politicians and Przemysław Kral himself. Ziobro allegedly received half a million zlotys from a man who is the subject of a prosecutor's investigation.
Zondacrypto: fear in the circle of Nawrocki, Kaczyński and Ziobro
According to Onet, the central motive in the Zondacrypto scandal is fear — affecting both the circle of President Karol Nawrocki and leading right-wing politicians.
The presidential camp fears what exactly is contained in the Zondacrypto investigation files and to what extent Nawrocki's financial links with Przemysław Kral will translate into a drop in his polling ratings. Kral allegedly informally co-financed Nawrocki's election campaign.
Jarosław Kaczyński, for his part — according to Onet — fears the disclosure of which of his associates secretly met with Kral and who lobbied on his behalf in the Sejm.
Zbigniew Ziobro found himself in a particularly difficult position. The former justice minister allegedly received half a million zlotys from Kral and — according to Onet — is struggling with successive versions of explanations concerning the circumstances of receiving this sum from a person who is of interest to the prosecutor's office.
Kral himself, according to Onet's account, fears for his own life. The man who handled money from criminal underworld circles allegedly fled under the wing of the prosecutor's office — and in doing so revealed politicians whom he had financed for years. The material also raises the question of whether a mysterious figure identified by the codename "X", who allegedly promised Kral a presidential pardon, is Tomasz Sakiewicz.
Prime Minister Donald Tusk exploited the Zondacrypto matter to attack Nawrocki, while Kaczyński — according to Onet — is attempting to push Ziobro to the political margins because of his links with Kral.
