Officers dismantled a massive drugs shipment. The head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs emphasized that thanks to cooperation between many institutions, it was possible to prevent the substance from being introduced onto the market.

At Gdynia port, nearly a tonne of cocaine was seized. This is one of the most serious anti-drug operations in recent years.
The information was provided by the Minister of Internal Affairs and Administration, Marcin Kierwiński. He noted that allowing such a quantity of this exceptionally dangerous and highly addictive substance onto the Polish market could bring catastrophic consequences.
The success was the result of coordination between police officers, Central Bureau of Investigation (CBŚ) officers and officials from the National Tax Administration (KAS). Representatives of foreign services also took part in the operation. The head of the ministry emphasised pride in the effectiveness of the justice system and law enforcement bodies.
Kierwiński announced a radical approach to smugglers. There is no tolerance for any compromise with those engaged in this shameful profession. Every attempt to smuggle through our territory will be unsuccessful.
The presented data shows the scale of the phenomenon and the effectiveness of the fight. From January to the end of May of this year, 83 tonnes of prohibited substances were seized. In the entire previous year, which was considered historic in this regard, the result was 56 tonnes. Even in 2022, only 19 tonnes were seized. This means that in less than half a year, a result four times higher than in the entire year three years ago was achieved.
During the period discussed, 49 manufacturing sites were dismantled, as well as 4 cannabis crops. Nearly 1,200 people fell into the hands of law enforcement. Among them, 83 were charged with leading an organised criminal group.
