Ziobro's Foundation Accepted 450,000 PLN from Kral. Former Minister Reveals Details
Zbigniew Ziobro has admitted that his foundation accepted 450,000 PLN from Zondacrypto chairman Przemysław Kral. The intermediary was former CBA official Artur Chodziński.
Ziobro: Foundation Needed Money for Legal and Media Campaign
According to Google News PL, Zondacrypto board chairman Przemysław Kral transferred 450,000 PLN to the Zbigniew Ziobro Institute for Sovereign Poland Foundation at the end of 2025. The funds came from the businessman's law firm.
Zbigniew Ziobro, speaking to the Niezależna.pl portal, admitted that the foundation needed financing. "We needed funds for legal and media action against the authoritarian activities of today's authorities," explained the former justice minister.
Ziobro stressed that he and his circle found themselves in a difficult situation. "Many people from our environment had their accounts blocked, money confiscated, were presented with unfounded, politically motivated accusations. All of this required defence, and therefore money," he said.
Intermediary was a Former CBA Agent
The former minister assured that he personally never spoke with Kral. Artur Chodziński, a former senior CBA official, informed him of the possibility of financial support. "It was Artur Chodziński, a former senior CBA official, whom I knew, respected and considered a credible person, who told me about him and the possibility of financial support," Ziobro said.
According to his account, Kral had a high opinion of Ziobro's activities as Prosecutor General, particularly the dismantling of VAT cartels. "There were even words to the effect that he considered Tusk a criminal. For ideological reasons and his own convictions, he wanted to support the activities of my circle," said the former minister.
Chodziński, speaking to Gazeta Wyborcza, confirmed his role as intermediary. He indicated that he met Kral in mid-2025 and worked for him for several months. "At practically every meeting he told me that Zbigniew Ziobro was a man wronged by the current authorities, that he was concerned about his health and life, and that he wanted to help him in some way," recounted the former CBA agent.
Chodziński informed Ziobro that Kral was a person from the cryptocurrency sector, controversial and previously negatively portrayed by TVN24. He noted that the businessman expected nothing in return. "Ziobro made sure that Kral expected nothing, and said that in that case he would have to refuse," he added.
Chodziński passed the foundation's bank account number to Ziobro, and then to Kral. "For passing on the donation proposal to Ziobro, and then the foundation's account number to Kral, I received no remuneration, commission. I did not gain any benefits," he stated.
Ziobro Claims He Refused Further Payments
Ziobro admitted that initially he was reluctant to accept support from Kral. However, he changed his mind when the foundation found itself in financial need. He had previously tried to raise funds through social media, but PiS leadership did not give permission.
Zondacrypto offered further payments, but Ziobro claims he rejected them—due to controversies concerning the cryptocurrency assets law and the company's role in the process. "Kral wanted to transfer, I suspect, several hundred thousand more zlotys to us in December 2025. And I then politely, but firmly, said that we could not accept that money," said the former minister.
