A 49-year-old recidivist from Zabrze was detained with over 3.5 kg of drugs and 800 packets of cigarettes without excise tax. The man had previously been noted for drug offences and the use of violence.

Officers from Zabrze entered a flat in the Helenka district on Sunday, which was occupied by the 49-year-old. During the search, uniformed police found significant quantities of narcotic substances and illegal tobacco products there.
The total weight of the confiscated drugs exceeded 3.5 kilograms. Among them were amphetamine, marijuana and ecstasy tablets. In addition, police officers discovered over 800 packets of cigarettes without valid Polish excise tax stickers.
The man has a history of previous conflicts with the law. In his past he had already been convicted of drug offences as well as for the use of violence. A prosecutor has now brought charges against him for illegal possession of a significant quantity of narcotic substances.
The case is being handled by Zabrze police. No information has been provided as to whether the suspect was acting on his own or whether he is connected with a larger criminal group dealing in drugs and contraband.
