Police officers from Zabrze arrested a 49-year-old man, in whose flat more than 3.5 kg of narcotic substances and over 800 packets of cigarettes without Polish excise marks were found. The man had previously been convicted of drug offences and use of violence.

Officers from Zabrze arrested a 49-year-old man on Sunday, who in his flat in the Helenka district was storing large quantities of narcotic substances and illegal tobacco products.
During a search carried out at the suspect's premises, law enforcement officers secured more than three and a half kilograms of drugs. Among the substances found were amphetamine, marijuana and ecstasy tablets. In addition, officers discovered over eight hundred packets of cigarettes lacking Polish excise duty seals.
The arrested man has a previous record of conflicts with the law. In the past he had already been convicted of offences related to drug trafficking, as well as acts involving the use of violence against other persons.
The prosecutor charged the man with illegal possession of a significant quantity of psychotropic and narcotic substances. This offence carries a maximum prison sentence of up to ten years.
