The regional prosecutor's office in Łódź has decided to discontinue proceedings against police officers from Lubin who participated in an intervention that ended in the death of 34-year-old Bartosz Sokołowski. This information was provided by the Onet portal, citing editorial findings.

The incident occurred in Lubin, where officers pressed the man to the ground while restraining him. The 34-year-old died as a result of this intervention. The investigation is being conducted in its entirety by the regional prosecutor's office in Łódź.

According to Onet, formal discontinuation of part of the case concerning the officers' intervention itself is to take place this month. This decision means that the police officers will not face charges related to the direct restraint of the injured party.

At the same time, editorial sources emphasise that this does not mean the end of the entire proceedings. Other aspects of the case remain under investigation by investigators from Łódź. Details regarding the further scope of the prosecutor's activities have not been disclosed.

The case of Bartosz Sokołowski's death had previously sparked significant interest from the media and public opinion. The family of the deceased and legal representatives called for clarification of all circumstances of the incident.
