Armed robbery of cash-in-transit vehicle in Celorico de Basto
A vehicle responsible for transporting cash was targeted in an armed robbery in the parish of Mota, municipality of Celorico de Basto, on Friday afternoon. The alert was issued in early afternoon.
According to available information, three men with covered faces approached the cash-in-transit vehicle, which was restocking an ATM. The robbers were travelling in a grey Volkswagen car. Two of them exited the vehicle carrying hunting rifles and carried out the robbery, whilst the third remained inside the car.
After committing the crime, the three fled in the vehicle in an unknown direction. The GNR deployed several patrols to the scene. Full details of the robbery have not yet been released.
