A 27-year-old Brazilian man has been remanded in custody after breaking into his ex-wife's home in Redondo, stabbing her current partner and taking the couple's son.

A 27-year-old Brazilian man has been remanded in custody after breaking into his ex-wife's residence in the Alentejo village of Redondo, stabbing her current partner and fleeing with the couple's son. The incident occurred in the early hours of 5 July.
According to the Judicial Police, the suspect entered the dwelling armed with a stick and a knife. Once inside, he inflicted two stab wounds on the ex-partner's current partner. Following the assault, the man removed the child from the location.
The victim was treated at Évora Hospital, where he received treatment for his injuries and was discharged the same day. The minor was later handed over to his mother.
The accused, who was detained by the Judicial Police, is charged with two crimes: domestic violence and aggravated assault. Despite being described by acquaintances as a "good father", the Évora court decided to keep the suspect in preventive custody.
