A 24-year-old man was arrested by the Judicial Police (PJ) on suspicion of attempting to kill two youths, aged 21 and 22, in the early hours of Sunday in Macedo de Cavaleiros. The incident resulted from a clash between two groups—one of local residents and another of individuals from Mirandela.
The PJ reported that the suspect allegedly used a white weapon to strike both victims in the back region, specifically in the lumbar area. The incident was accompanied by insults and threats between those involved.
The victims sustained serious injuries, described by the authorities as capable of endangering their survival. Prompt medical care prevented the injuries from becoming fatal.
The suspect, accused of two attempted murders, will be taken to court for the determination of precautionary measures.
