Google News PT — Crime reports that two men, aged 35 and 41, were detained by the GNR on Saturday in Boavista dos Pinheiros, in the municipality of Odemira, in the district of Beja, on suspicion of drug trafficking.

The detention was carried out by officers from the Criminal Investigation Unit (NIC) of the Odemira Detachment, during a traffic enforcement operation in which drugs were detected inside the vehicle in which the suspects were travelling. The operation led to two house searches.

In total, 318 doses of hashish, 201 of crack, 23 of MDMA and 18 of heroin were seized, according to the Beja Territorial Command of the GNR. The security force also confiscated a firearm, 12 rounds of 7.65 millimetre ammunition, two vehicles, €1,600 in cash, four mobile phones, two precision digital scales and material allegedly intended for cutting and packaging narcotics.

On Monday, both defendants appeared for their first judicial interrogation at Odemira Court, with the judge applying a custodial remand measure to each of them.
